My husband and I have lived in this beautiful village for the past 45 years, the friendly people, local events, good doctors surgery, everything that one wants from a small community, all will be gone forever if this so called garden village is allowed to be built.  I know that people need homes but this is far too large for this rural area and its country lanes.I have written my feelings in poetry:Kent is the garden of England or so they used to say, Do we really want to spoil it for the fashions of today, Fast trains through to Paris, housing estates galore, Kent will just be a concrete jungle to the French shore. Protest groups and their banners will never have their way As its all down to the planners who never will give way, As the villages die before us and we mourn a way of life There will be no going back to the garden and our precious country life.v
