Liberal Democrat candidate: Stephen Goffredi
Marden Planning Opposition Group (MPOG), have received a statement from the Liberal Democrat party’s local election candidate for Marden and Yalding Ward, Stephen Goffredi, which with permission, we will relay. This is a statement for the Maidstone Borough Council election on Thursday 6th May 2021.
“I very much support the save Marden campaign. Whilst I completely understand why people want to live in a village such as Marden, massive development such as that proposed would damage or destroy the very essence of the village that makes it so attractive. I am not opposed to some new houses being built, but this must be carefully managed to minimise the impact to both the community and the environment and brown field sites should always be used before developing green fields. I will continue to opose all plans for any such large developments.”
