Anger over ‘secret meeting’ about 8,000 extra homes

MAIDSTONE Borough Council has come under fire for holding a meeting about massive increases of housing in secret.

Liberal Democrat-led MBC’s policy and resources committee went into closed session last night the authority’s “call for sites” as part of its Local Plan review will see 8,000 new homes inaddition to the 17,600 homes already in the plan. This directly affects Marden and the ‘Call for Sites’ of which Marden is one. We know now that there are “multiple” sites being nominated as well within the Borough.
